The Vatican’s traditional Christmas concert will take place Saturday, December 14 in the Paul VI room, and will have the theme “Let’s make a network for the Amazon,” echoing the recent synod.
Artists from around the world will perform on this occasion. Included among them are the French singer Mireille Mathieu and the American singer Lionel Richie. All musical genres will be represented during this evening: from gospel to classical, by way of international pop music.
This is the 27th concert since its inception. This year, it will financially support two projects: that of the Pontifical Foundation Scholas Occurentes, created by Cardinal Jorge Maria Bergoglio, while he was Archbishop of Buenos Aires, and that of the Don Bosco Valdocco Onlus Missions.
The concert will be broadcast on the private Italian channel, Canale 5, on Christmas Eve at 9:30 pm, and will be rebroadcast on December 25 at 1:30 pm.
